A beautiful, old building with amazing views! Decent value, I would definitely return.

The hotel was a bit run down inside. The shower wasn't very good. The breakfast was nothing special, but you get what you pay for. The location isn't that great

The towels were stained and the room door did not have a proper lock. But I was safe. The bathtub was not completely clean! The quality and variety of breakfast could be better.

Convenient location, friendly staff,, needs updating.

Location was good. Up a hill, but that walks off the food from the nearby, plentiful restaurants. Staff were very nice. Breakfast was adequate, but not sure what one is supposed to do with raw oats and cornflakes as the cereals. We pretty much had the small rooftop pool to ourselves. Something to sit on would have been nice.

The bathroom especially was old and not in a good condition, though it was clean. Very low water pressure at times.

Nice old building with great view and very friendly staff but needs some improvements

The location is great, it’s easy to find a parking spot, you can walk to downtown and to lots of restaurants, the view is great. The pool is nice. The bar ist great to enjoy the evenings. The rooms are quite old but have this old building Charme. They are quite spacious and well furnished. Cleaning was done daily and was okay.

It was not able to close the door to the bathroom at all. You really had to slam it for it to get stuck and then you had to use a lot of force to open it again. Even then it didn’t close all the way. The pool was a bit dirty and there are no loungers or the like at the pool. The breakfast was a big disappointment. Very simple food, not the best quality and not a lot of choice. Some days seemed like the only served left overs. They tried to serve fruits but they weren’t fresh. Coffee was honestly unfortunately disgusting.

Great value for money, clean and tidy with friendly staff.

The view was amasing we was promise sea view and we got it, the breakfast was acceptable it would have been nice to have fresh juices. The reception staff was very helpful and could not do enough. The swiming pool area was clean and nice. Room sevice change the bath towels every day and clean and made up the beds

The staff was lovely and the views were gorgeous. Dinner's at the hotel were good as well and were good price

Lack of air conditioning or even good sized fans in the rooms as well as in the breakfast room and other places in the hotel. Lack of shade or comfortable lounging furniture near the pool. Lack of Wi-Fi in the rooms. To get anywhere from this hotel is a pretty steep climb.

Very nice, but shows it's age here and there.

Very spacious rooms with cozy island ambience. Love the wicker furniture. Only tried breakfast sadly. Lunch and dinner menu seemed good but ended up eating elsewhere. Breakfast was only fresh and good tasting stuff. Been in places with more variety sure. But also been in more expensive places that served spoiled food! Not in Monte Carlo! Love the swing and pool area. So quiet and peaceful. Didn't see any mosquitos and normally I'm a mosquito trap! Didn't spent much time on it (short stay) but the library looked inviting!

Some improvement are necessary as there is a few places that are in need of renovating... Certainly they'll be improving slowly as not to close completely. It's quite central but the walk uphill from Funchal can be challenging. Taxis aren't that expensive, it's best to take one if you're carrying bags/luggage. Wi-fi is only available in common rooms. It's good for a tech detox, though!

It has an amazing view, good location, it takes around 10 minutes from the city center by walking, the stuffs were kind.

There was a strong smell of damp in my room. Because it was an old building. Maybe it is time to do some alteration for some rooms.

Hotel needs updating but lovely staff

The staff were lovely and so helpful (particularly Marcia!) It also has amazing views and the pool at the top was lovely to sit round when the sun was setting

The hotel is incredibly dated and needs some tlc and money put into it. The rooms are noisy with paper thin walls so we didn't sleep great.
